My twisted, morbid, and unflappable curiosity led me to google "anal fissures," where I found "http://www.manukahoneyusa.com." I've never heard of the stuff -- and have an aunt who is REALLY into herbal/natural/organic things that I must now fwd the link to as well.
I promise I'll have no financial gain if you try it instead of your apothecary's creation. In short, I don't know them from a hole in the wall, but IMO if it's a bullshit site made up of false testimonies, it's the most convincing one I've ever seen.

However, I fail to understand how honey can cure everything they say it can. As you say, caveat emptor and YMMV.
